DINER RECEIPT
RECEIPT NUMBER: ACIB06
RECEIPT DATE: 9 11 19XX
MANAGER TITLE: BALTIMORE
RECEIPT NOTES:
That will certainly be one for the books—our very first service as a united Cafe and Diner, with only a minor nuisance along the way. I'd say we’re off to a fantastic start! However, I’d like to reiterate that we aren’t officially open yet. Let’s consider it more of a practice run for the real thing—a good opportunity to stretch our legs and get some fresh air. I know being cooped up in the physical location these past few weeks has been less than ideal.
I never doubted for a second that Mr. Perez wouldn’t be much of a challenge to serve. And if mon amour had been able to use her full potential, it would’ve been all but trivial. Still, I’m exceedingly proud of how gracefully she handled the situation. I assume my pride must mean quite a bit to someone like her. And of course, my trusted associate contributed more than he’s willing to admit. That’s the one major drawback to keeping track of our work through receipts alone—so much goes on outside of our written accounts. Despite his connection to pride itself, my most trusted associate is far too humble for his own good.
In any case, this first case bodes well, in my opinion. If the worst we have to deal with is being pestered by one of mon amour’s older siblings, I think we’re set up for many successes yet to come. It’s true, Maeve Manemo can be quite the handful—from what I saw yesterday, at least—but as long as we keep to ourselves and she does the same, I imagine we’ll get along just fine. And while it’s a little worrisome that she’s already aware of our work as Cafe and Diner, I like to think it’s just one sibling looking out for another. Either that, or our reputation really does precede us. Perhaps by quite a lot, even.
