RECEIPT AS OF: 7/07/01
BARISTA ON DUTY: BLACK COFFEE
RECEIPT FILED AS: DWD-04
Okay… well, it seems we’re not exactly as united as I would have liked. I’m sure it took a while for the original Cafe to warm up, too, so there is no need to worry yet. While we might be fractured on what we want to do specifically, I’m sure we can all agree on one topic: Death. Whether it be Death in the form of change, Death in the form of fire, Death in the form of Mistress, or Death in the literal sense of losing a loved one. Death is what ties us together now. And if the rumors and whispers are to be believed, Death is coming, and it is coming for everyone.
Cheerful, I know. Anyway, I think it would be best if Red Eye and Galao stuck around to help me better understand Mistress and her goals. Obviously, they have an intimate knowledge about Mistress that few others would have. Plus, if Mistress were to try anything, I doubt she’d want to go up directly against Red Eye and Galao. It’d be two against one. As for Espresso and Doppio, I think it’d be a fantastic idea to go find this Mr. Robison. In general, I trust both of you to handle your business and the Cafe’s business as you see fit. Just keep me in the loop, please.
Now… I guess that brings me to Carajillo. I’m not sure it’d be a good idea to let someone I don’t know very well investigate the remains of the Original Cafe. No. I need to be firm. It’s not a good idea. And you certainly did not instill confidence in how you conducted and presented yourself. I know Red Eye signed you up for this, but that is all I know about you. Perhaps we can get to know each other better while researching Mistress and her nightclubs? Then, later, we can look into the fire. Trust me, I want to know who struck the match as much as you do. Maybe even more. I’m 8 now. I’m next in line to be set on fire should things go ’72 on us.
