Nope. Nope, nope, nope. Hated that. Hated serving Mr. Collyer. Look—I don’t mind serving our usual customers. Sure, they might look a little rough around the edges, but they don’t do that. They don’t just pop up out of nowhere, get right up in your face, and they definitely don’t make your spine literally tingle. TINGLE! I WAS TINGLING! Haha… okay, that sounds gross. Anyway, yeah, I’m done with the whole Mr. Collyer service. Good luck and Godspeed to No. 116 and 611.
That said, I did find something potentially interesting at the park: a strange book. And if I had a dollar for every weird, yet critically invaluable book we’ve found, I’d have, what, two dollars by now? But this one’s different from the one we found near our Ice Water Distributor’s shore. This book is… blank. Still, it feels important. It’s a small, brownish book titled, The Revised and Reanimated Bardo Thodol or the Otherwise and Otherworldly Handy Guidebook to the Bardo Plane, Hereafter Known as the Achegloom. Which is, yeah, a mouthful. So let’s just call it the RRBT for simplicity’s sake.
While most of it’s blank, the first page does have some information. It says:
“Mostly English Translation by Lana Ules Gurly. Compiled, Edited, and Distributed by Herbert White and Company.

Herein lies the setting, face-to-face, to the reality in the intermediate state: the great deliverance by hearing while on the after-death Plane, from a revised and reanimated interpretation of ‘The Profound Doctrine of the Emancipating of the Consciousness by Meditation Upon the Peaceful and Wrathful Deities.’”
…So, a word salad. But more importantly—Distributed by Herbert White and Company. Mr. White. Of course. Figures a strange, likely cursed book would be tangled up in his business. I’ve passed our findings along to the Long Beach Branch. They’d have a better chance of knowing how to get in touch with Mr. White than we would.
