I believe Mrs. Vanderdecken is satisfied and fully served. It feels good to actually send a customer home for a change—feels like we haven’t had that luxury in a while. Honestly, Mrs. Vanderdecken could probably bring her husband, Mr. Vanderdecken, to the Cafe next time. She was surprisingly reasonable.
Then again, she also came pretty close to throwing us overboard to a watery grave, so I’m still 50/50 on whether we should downgrade her title. For now, “Mrs.” seems fine—assuming we even see her again.
We did get some valuable intel from her about M.K. and the London Fogs. Most importantly, with her navigation systems fixed, her path home points directly to 112 Ocean Avenue—the Amityville Horror house. That’s probably our next obvious lead. Nos. 611 and 161 have already started working on ways to shut down 112. But Mrs. Vanderdecken warned us: we’re likely to encounter Miss. 112 herself if we try to shut the door.
Miss. 112—that’s who No. 1124 saw before we hired them. She was one of the three figures they saw—alongside M.K. and some other unknown customer. As Mrs. Vanderdecken told us, Miss. 112 played a major role in getting London Fogs on the menu and has been an eager accomplice to M.K. I wonder if that other customer No. 1124 saw could be the mysterious “Lana,” the one who wrote the RRBT? I suppose we’ll find out soon enough.
But first things first—we’ve still got one last London Fog order for No. 1124 to fulfill. After that, we can focus on how best to serve Miss. 112 at her home address. We’re going to need to offer her a real door-closing service—something that slams the possibility of any other London Fog drinkers wandering into New York City for good.
