We’ve got another reservation—this time at a completely different restaurant. Tourists have been reporting increased sightings of… well, let me be clear: No. 611 named this customer, not me. Just so that’s on the record. Apparently, tourists have been spotting Mr. Odom at One if by Land, Two if by Sea, that upscale restaurant on Barrow Street. Even without meeting him, I know he’s a London Fog fan—always has been, even before we started operations in Long Island.
Mr. Odom’s sudden, frequent appearances at One if by Land, Two if by Sea suggest that London Fogs are just as “mythical” as some of our other specialty drinks. While Mr. Odom has always been a bit of a legendary patron there, he’s never dined in this often before. It presents an interesting opportunity—an experiment of sorts. Something akin to the trials No. 71 and No. 7 ran with Mr. Gehrels. If my theory’s right, there are actually two Mr. Odoms—one from Ottawa and one from Quebec.
If we get the chance—and can pin down his whereabouts—I’d love to chat with the Ottawa Mr. Odom. I doubt he’s interested in Green Tea or Ice Water, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t take his Coffee with Cream. Fresh-squeezed OJ, maybe… but duels aren’t quite murders, are they? So it’s probably between a Corpse Reviver or a Hot Chocolate. Considering No. 2 and No. 5 have been indulging in a few Corpse Revivers lately, I’ll check with them to see if Mr. Odom is still around or if he’s been seduced by the luxuries of Hot Chocolate.
Oh—and we should make sure we serve the Québecois Mr. Odom, too. We don’t have any family stationed at One if by Land, Two if by Sea, but Mr. Odom’s been causing enough of a stir now that London Fogs are on the menu. It’s something we’ll need to handle. I mean, if he couldn’t be president, I doubt he’ll be much trouble to serve.
