Just got a call from No. 1313 over at the Palm Beach Branch—she confirmed she can smell another page burning in the Book of Regents. Honestly, I’ll be glad when this whole “Regent” business is done with. They’re getting as annoying as some of our other reoccurring customers, like Mrs. Weekend. Crap… we haven’t seen her yet this year, and she always shows up at least once to yell about her eye and chase us around the hallways. What a pain. At least we’ve got until… mm, looks like August before we need to worry about her.
Anyway, as for Miss. Brunt, her tab’s paid in full. What we learned before closing it out is that the “head” dancer of the troupe made some kind of deal with M.K. to give Miss. Brunt her “fixed-point” status. So, we know M.K. has some say in which customers get a split tab between their preferred drink and a London Fog. And—for what it’s worth—Miss. Brunt did have an Anchor. She might be similar to our 16th London Fog drinker, though her body wasn’t brown, and her eyes weren’t white like we’ve seen before.
Instead, her body was pitch black, and the eyes in her head were bright orange. Which… doesn’t match up with any of the twenty London Fog drinkers we’ve cataloged so far… but at least Anchor Destruction worked all the same. As for the remaining Regents, we still have no way to actively track them down, and the Book of Regents only reacts when they decide to come stateside. So, we’ll just have to sit tight until the next Regent decides to show their face.
Four to go.
