No. 3 mentioned it yesterday—there’s been a big influx of comfort food requests from subway workers lately. I’m not sure what kind of drink goes with this comfort food, but at least we’re not going in completely blind. From what we've gathered, quite a few customers from the Cafe have been lurking around in the subterranean shadows beneath the city. Subway workers haven’t managed to get a clear look yet, but from what they can tell, these customers are pretty pale. Not quite Mrs. Stoker pale, but possibly edging toward Mr. Collyer pale.

Until we spend a few late nights down there ourselves, I doubt we’ll know for sure. Tonight, No. 62, No. 116, and I plan to take the LIRR to Penn Station. From there, we’ll sweep a few of the major subway lines—the Red, Blue, and Orange lines, specifically. We’ve got some family working for the transit authority who’ll cover for us while we poke around. This customer has been spotted all over the place—uptown, the West Side, East Side, Brooklyn, Queens. I don’t think a quick sweep will be enough to pinpoint their exact spot, but No. 62 is hoping to at least figure out what drink they prefer.

If No. 62 can’t get a read on them, odds are we’re dealing with another London Fog drinker. Technically, we could be looking at someone who drinks Apple Juice, Amazake, Ichor, Mead, or even Red Wine, but let’s figure out if they’re from Ottawa or Quebec first. Honestly, part of me would be relieved to deal with a “normal” customer for once. But then again… I don’t know. I’m starting to get into this whole London Fog thing. No. 35 and I have been poring over what little we’ve uncovered about the RRBT so far, and I think I’m starting to see some patterns. Oh, and y'know, the whole "being dead" thing.
