Well, it didn’t go exactly as planned, but Mr. Wells’ tab has been paid in full. A tab that ran well over a hundred dollars—each dollar paid painfully, in full. It’s never easy to close a tab like that… well, maybe when it’s a particularly annoying customer. But when it’s one of our Mr. customers? It’s never easy. In fact, it might not have even been the right choice. But at the end of the day, Mr. Wells wasn’t even supposed to be in town. He wasn’t even supposed to be in North America.
On the plus side, we’ve managed to temporarily seal off the unauthorized airport he flew in from. Though until we figure out where customers are getting their London Fogs, it won’t stay closed for long. We’ve got a few leads—and a few comfort foods that might pair well with a steamy London Fog. But until we know more about that milky Earl Grey concoction, we probably won’t be able to stop them from flowing into New York City.
Speaking of London Fogs, there were definitely two customers down there looking to partake. While we’re still figuring out the details on these drinkers, it’s another Haunting we’ll need No. 1124 to look into. There’s a good chance we won’t get much further in the RRBT without making some real progress in sending the London Fog drinkers home. And while it was a hard decision to send Mr. Wells back with his tab fully paid, the presence of those other customers—especially the young boy No. 1124 initially saw—makes it clear. M.K. had plans for Mr. Wells. Plans that would’ve ended with us paying their tabs in full one way or another.
