Revenge of the Nerds and I finally managed to carve out some time to pay Magdalena a visit in Hell’s Kitchen. No. 611 also wanted to tag along, but he decided against it when we told him we wouldn’t be stopping by to catch a quick performance of Chicago. There was one minor problem, though… she wasn’t home. So, of course, No. 62 and I just packed up and headed home after catching a quick tale of homicidal women. I mean, if she’s not home, she’s not home. What are we gonna do about it?
Okay, okay, we did a little investigation work as a treat. We asked her neighbors if they’d seen her recently, and no one had for at least a week or so. Apparently, she’s a bit reclusive, but I think we all know why that is. She wants to keep her face on the down low. Though her neighbors do at least know who she is and have seen her out and about. Also, her downstairs neighbor claims he hasn’t heard her moving around in a while, but he didn’t seem too sure. He said, and I quote, “I’m not creepy. I don’t make it a habit to listen to her moving around. I just haven’t heard any major thuds in a while.”
So, you’ve heard it from her creepy downstairs neighbor who keeps careful track of her movements throughout the day—she’s not home and hasn’t been home in a while. Now, we don’t really know Maggie all that well, so this might be a normal length of absence for her. I don’t want to jump to conclusions. We ended up leaving her a note in her door. We can check back in a week or so. I know we’re on a time crunch, but I figure if she isn’t there in a week, maybe No. II can turn up the heat a bit.
