I think I finally figured out where Theodosia Langley is! Or, at least, what she ended up drinking before her death. Ice Water. No wonder No. 44 and 26 couldn’t find her; she doesn’t drink Corpse Revivers. Though, I wouldn’t have put the pieces together without No. 44’s recent receipt. It turns out that Theodosia’s grand adventure might not have been so… well… grand. And it also makes her prolonged loss of communication with the rest of her family make a lot more sense. Of course, it’s not necessarily a sure thing, but the evidence is pretty damning.
So, according to records, Theodosia Langley left Salem, Massachusetts in October of 1755 aboard the vessel the Magicienne headed towards Egypt. Theodosia Langley was one of the most prominent researchers of the burgeoning field of Egyptology in the colonies, and it seems like she was offered a trip to Egypt by some lord back in England. Though, the timing of this expedition was probably a little foolhardy, as records indicate that the Magicienne sunk somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean in December of the same year. It seems that a storm blew them far off course, and their ship ended up in a winter storm with dwindling provisions.
Of course, assuming Theodosia Langley was still aboard the Magicienne when it sunk, she would be sipping more than her fair share of Ice Water. So, it looks like we’re going to need to get some Ice Water ourselves. Luckily No. 224 should be able to help us out on this expedition. And, as I understand it, we’re on good terms with our Ice Water distributor. Or, at least on better terms than some of our distributors. And, assuming Ursula is still around, that should take care of all the Langleys up north!
