It's just like old times. We're back in the business of going toe-to-toe with the Open Doors Church and Padre Santos himself. We've already spent a good deal of late nights at the Church between ITHH and ODOG, but our orders to piss in Padre's soup come all the way from the top. Yeah, it's weird having a top that orders come from now. Oh well. Seems like Astrid is quite invested in keeping an eye on old Padre and stopping him if necessary. Honestly, while similar in some respects, the Cafe and the Lighthouse approach the coffee business in totally different ways. If the Cafe's main goal is to serve a nice cup of coffee and get customers on their way home, the Lighthouse wants to eviscerate any customer who comes into its borders. Not a great way to run a restaurant if you ask me, but I hear they overseason everything anyway.
Though in fun and not totally annoying news, we're back in Long Beach. Again. Astrid must have this policy about letting her employees settle down in any one spot for too long. Oh well, at least it's a heck of a lot less gloomy than Astoria. We should be hanging around here for a month or so. It kind of depends on what exactly Padre is up to this time around. And while this is technically Ampersand business, I'm sure Astrid wouldn't mind if we got some extra help from Palm Beach or Long Island, as needed. Assuming either of the other branches is free enough to help.
On the 8th, our plan is to attend Padre's service. Maybe not directly, considering he knows who all of us are, but we will be surveilling the event. Also worth noting, No. 26 and No. 44 are still back up in Astoria, helping coordinate the Langley affairs. And I think Astrid has roped them back into doing some actuary work for the organization. And No. 323 is also staying up near Disappointment in case the House is needed. So, it's just myself, 1, 2, and 71. All we're missing is #26, #62, #71, #1313, and of course, #8 for it to really feel like old times.
