I think No. 3 already mentioned it, but I have family in Evergreen. My mom and dad live here, and they wanted to see me while I was here. I know this seems like, uh, hm… not “CaD” related. But I should also probably mention that my parents are pretty big coffee nuts. They’re actually the only reason I knew about the Cafe and Diner. When I was a kid, they would tell me all sorts of stories about the customers, and the drinks, and Muriel, and how No. 1 served a world-saving cup of coffee.

The thing is, I don’t… have the best relationship with my parents. Not, “bad” I guess, but we don’t really talk. The last time I heard from them was after No. 3, and the rest of the Third Cafe served Miss. Masoch. So it’s been… What, like two or three years since we’ve talked? And it’s not even that I haven’t been in Evergreen since then. I’ve been back here a few times. So… I guess the point is, I have a feeling whatever it is they want to talk about will be coffee-related.

Now I don’t know the specifics of why they know so much about the trade. If I had to guess… mm… based on what I know, I think they might over-season their meals. A little too much salt and pepper, you know? That’d also explain all of my dad’s nautical décor. He sure did like Lighthouses. We even had one hanging in our bathroom. Which… isn’t necessarily a bad thing, right? I mean, No. 2, No.17, No. 26, No. 44, and No. 116 have all cracked a bit of pepper and thrown a bit of salt. Though, I guess I don’t know if they have been watching their sodium lately or not. If that even is how they got into the trade in the first place. All I know is there have been shades of salty strangeness lately, and now my parents want to talk to me. I’d say it's a red flag… but I’m worried it’s actually indigo.
