Subject: Omens

Started the morning early, before the sun had a chance to burn off this here Irish mist. Easier to track when the ground's still soft.

Took the old paths past Tullyallen, winding through dirt trails where the grass grows high and the stones shift underfoot if you ain't careful. Eoin says these hills have seen their fair share of ghosts. 'Course, we know ghosts ain't real. Still—feels like the hills ain't so sure.

Didn't take long to find signs. Real, tangible ones. Paw prints sunk deep in the damp earth—too deep for any hound. The tracks weren't fresh, but they weren't old, either—maybe a few hours ahead of us, if that. Whatever we're after, it knows how to move. Knows how to stay just out of reach.

Further along, the grass was torn up—somethin' big had barreled through. Snapped twigs, crushed ferns. Deep claw marks raked through an old oak.

Not a fight, not a struggle—just movement. Fast, deliberate.

We're close.

Eoin's muttering again—old stories, bad omens. Like the hills themselves got opinions. Joy's uneasy—ain't like her. Something in that old deck of hers shook her bad. And Vic's got that look—seein' things the rest of us can't. Wisps of energy, shadows where there ain't none.

Ain't my concern right now. I gotta keep my focus ahead.

One thing's certain—this ain't some lost hound.

It's bigger. Older. Smarter. And it knows we're comin'.
