//CaDCom Receipt System v4.0//

Barista: Jennifer Hepburn

Date: Feb-1-2020

Receipt: C-OSO-001

Subject: Otherworld

Dawn broke just as we crossed over. Or maybe it was after. Time’s already slipping.

if our CaDComs are correct, we lost a day in transit. And Sarah assures us the CaDComs are working as intended. It wouldn’t be the first time travel between ██████████ has caused us to gain or lose a few hours.

Or our lunches.

The Otherworld still honors the irksome law of ███████████ displacement sickness. So it’s taken us an extra few hours to regain our bearings after exiting the ██████ born out of ██████’s chest.

This █████, the “Otherworld,” it’s… beautiful. The air here is thickened by an ever present mist and the sky shimmers like spilled mercury. Rolling hills stretch endlessly, green like envy and soft as a lie. The sea which we’ve spent a few good hours recovering by crashes against iridescent silver-black sand, but it never roars, only whispers. Nothing like the █████████. This place feels older, heavier. Like a memory stirred from sleep.

It seems we’ve emerged in some sort of twisted grove. It almost reminds me of the ██████ back in ██████████. There are scores of trees with serpent-bent spines and hollowed knots that look like pleading eyes. There’s something about them that seems to be watching us. Waiting for us to do something. Begging us to do something.

Everyone's shaken, even if they won't say it aloud. Rachel keeps quoting nothing, her personal ties to the threads of Fate have frayed. Daichi hasn't made a joke in… at least twelve minutes. He’s in an unusually perky state. Kyle muttered something about this being a root-system, not a landscape, but I doubt this is any mundane biological system. Jean-Marc is lighting his fourth ██████████-dipped cigarette. And Julia… Julia looks like she's remembering a place she visited so long ago, as if in a dream.

This is our official entry into a previously uncharted █████. An entirely new world. Literally, an Otherworld. Once everyone perks up a bit, we’ll start scouting our way up the coast and out of this twisted forest toward higher ground.

No signs of ██████ or his House of Horus yet. Hopefully, we’ve beat him here. If not… then we’ll truly be up against the House. And you all know how that saying goes.
