Subject: Clean Up
Ain’t a problem. I’ll tag along for Friday’s clean-up. Figure I already know Agency procedures, I ain’t afraid of the corpse, and I satisfy their “Third Cafe” employee requirement. Not expectin’ it to be a fun job or nothin’, but I’d like to put that whole crisis behind us sooner rather than later, just like Kyle said. Though—What’s our plan moving forward?
We ain’t shackin’ back up in what’s left of the Third Cafe, are we? Even if X-Ray and the Juliettes scrub the place clean, it’s still mostly ash and rubble. We could rebuild, I reckon. But if we’re gonna go through all that pain, why build on top of a mass grave? Just don’t sit right with me. We can’t go back to the First Cafe. The Second Cafe—far as I can tell—was mostly just Jenni’s house. Doubt we’d all fit in there. And Florida’s Cafe? Cramped as hell. And, well… it’s in Florida. I know most of us ain’t lookin’ to leave California.
So… where we headed?
Don’t suppose the managers already worked somethin’ out, have they? Poor Jackie’s been a mess and a half. Can’t imagine she’s been thinkin’ much on real estate. Same goes for Jenni, Jericho, and that Jean-Marc fella. But if we’re serious about this—really serious—about keepin’ this big, united Fourth Cafe and Diner runnin’, we’re gonna need the space for it.
Maybe once the corpse is cleaned up, I’ll take a look around with Zach. See what we can find. What I wouldn’t give for another mysterious benefactor to swoop in and gift us a new Cafe—like they did for Jackie the first time.
