Oh, no. No, no, no. There is no way in hell I’m letting Daichi go to Vegas alone under the guise of "Cafe business."
We’re already tight on funds as it is, and we still need to sort out our new location.
I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, though.
We do know where the House of Horus is, so we might as well do our due diligence. Daichi and I will be going to Vegas. Jean-Marc’s working on the receipt right now, but the rest of the Cafe is going to be tied up tomorrow with an intensive service in Hollywood. I checked in, asked if they needed either of us—he said they’ve got it covered. Still, we won’t start the drive until you guys get back.
Like Daichi said, I don’t think we’re in a rush to serve our Vegas clientele. If all they’re doing is smuggling artifacts, then great—we can leave a tip with the Astorians or… I don’t know, the Egyptian police? Stolen artifacts aren’t usually our business. But if there’s something bigger happening under the Strip, I want to know before we have another catastrophic surprise on our hands. Some artifacts do fall into the history of the Coffee Trade, after all.
Also—Daichi—you do know you can’t just sit at the slots drinking all day, right? It’s not exactly… glamorous. And you’ve never been much for glamour. How fast do you actually think it would take the pit boss to notice a snake in the casino? That might fly at Circus Circus, but I wouldn’t try it anywhere else.
