Now that Pleasant has been “dealt” with, and the tourists of the Keys seem to be recovering from his unexpected visit, it’s time to turn our attention back to Perez. He is why we came down here in the first place. There is still a bit of work to do before we can conduct his service. While we’ve been down here a few days longer than originally expected, I haven’t been able to set up his table while we were dealing with Pleasant. However, it shouldn’t take more than two days.
I understand this may come as bad news to some of the Cafe. However, an extra weekend in the Keys will not kill any of us, and the Dark can certainly wait. Unless, of course, Pleasant’s “old friends” appear sooner than expected. Until then, we have the time to get our original job done—and done well. If this must become a rush order, we can adjust, but I still want to see Perez served and sent home. Worst case, we can keep him entertained in the Cafe back up in Palm Beach until we can settle his tab.
While I finish setting things up, it would make our work go faster if the Manager could help out a bit. I know he knows more than a few hat tricks and cocktails that could help draw Perez into us. Or—he could head back up to Palm Beach ahead of us if he’d rather. There is plenty of work to do at the Cafe to prepare for the coming Dark. Though how one would prepare for unknown customer… unknown customers… it would be difficult, certainly. I suppose it is between doing something easy and an impossible, infuriating task. Choice is, of course, his.
