The Manager brought up a good point yesterday. If Pleasant is here, and we have good reason to believe he is, then he isn't working alone. He has to be part of Umbra's gross-ass "Dark." Which… Is troubling. Aka, he's to be expected. Pleasant? That's a big get for Umbra. I know they worked together in the past as part of Padre Santos' "Dark Triad," but I always assumed Pleasant was only there because of Padre… I guess he must've grown close to Umbra during all of their clerical work.
Or… well… maybe the three of them are actually still bound together by the Dark Contract. My memory is a bit hazy on what the Dark Contract even was, but I know that it was a big piece of Padre's plan. It gave the Dark Triad the power to call out the Anathemas, but it also let them tap directly into Padre's source of power. With Padre gone… I don't see why they'd have to work together again. But… I could see why they might want to. Sure, Padre's gone, but the Dark Contract is probably still active. With it, the three of them together are probably way, way stronger than on their own.
Great.
Love that somehow Padre is still finding ways to piss me off. The good news is that they shouldn't be able to utilize the main part of the Dark Contract, as they already fulfilled those terms… At least, I think so? But even if they are still able to tap into Padre's main source of power—what would convince Pleasant to work with Umbra and Aka again? Power for power's sake? As the Manager pointed out, Pleasant is already plenty powerful on his own. Can't be that… I guess maybe Umbra is offering to share the First Bible? Can it even be shared?
