Unfortunate news. The Amazake Antekey has already been stolen. No. 5, No. 6, No. 44A, No. 224, and I returned to the Cafe after No. 6 confirmed there was no sign of the lantern we were after. Moon reversed. Light lost. Or something along those lines—I’m no cartomancer. That said, there’s a chance this situation mirrors the Ichor Antekey. Perhaps the Amazake lantern has washed up somewhere in the States. If that’s the case, Miss. Bad’s omen doesn’t offer much guidance on its exact location. Seek the lights… Well, it seems that’s exactly what we’ll have to do.
We also uncovered troubling information from Mrs. Konkon and her family—the Heralds of the Parade—If we cannot return the Amazake Antekey, the parade will end, and the night will fully descend. Of course, even if we find the Antekey, we currently have no intention of returning it to Miss. Satsuki. Manager No. 2 isn’t likely to budge on that decision. And, let’s face it, Satsuki striking a deal with us for her own downfall is just as unlikely. That’s a bridge we’ll cross when we come to it, I suppose.
First, we need to find what’s missing. Perhaps Miss. Bad will swoop in soon with a new omen or a clearer hint of where we need to search. Or perhaps we’ll have to carve our own path through the darkness. One possibility is using the Ichor Antekey as a guide, though that might have only worked because the three pieces were meant to function as one.
In the meantime, No. 26 and No. 7 will take a few trips around to see if they can spot or sense anything unusual.
That’s all.
