Odd vibes this last month, huh? Still, I bring very joyous news! We’ve got a new, yet very familiar, face to the Cafe and Diner: Employee No. 224! Previously, No. 224 worked for the Florida Cafe under the title of New Guy, and he has also gone by the customer name, Mr. Loveland. We had to part ways a while back with No. 224 due to the nature of the Dark and their aspirations, but the universe has crossed our paths once again, and I couldn’t be happier!
I can’t imagine No. 224 is much of a mystery to any of our current employees beyond perhaps No. 512, but I’ll still give him a brief introduction. He is an extremely talented polyglot and is able to pick up any language in a matter of minutes. This rare talent makes him quite invaluable working in both the cafe and diner. And, of course, it’s not just his linguistic prowess that makes him a cherished member of the Cafe and Diner; it’s his spirit. No. 224 has always brought a lightness that brightens even our darkest hours.
And he couldn’t have rejoined us at a better time! So far, we have been fortunate enough to only deal with Québécois who have spoken English—or close enough—but as we further our ventures into selling Amazake, Ichor, Mead, and even Apple Juice, we may need a little translator from time to time! No. 5 and No. 44A have already begun catching him up to speed, and No. 4 has gotten a few different key languages on tape, so we’ll be ready should we need help with Japanese, Ancient Greek, Old Norse, Gaelic, Welsh, etc. So—let’s all welcome back our little slice of sunshine, No. 224!
