[Subject: Mr. White]

It seems the Cafe has received an urgent order from Mr. White himself. He’s tasked us with retrieving one of his many illicit, accurst, and ironically bewitched props. Specifically, he’s asked for a mask from 1987—our time. All he told us was that this mask is capable of creating more props, which leads me to suspect that it generates props specifically tied to our familiar home.

While Mr. White didn’t confirm this outright, I’ve seen the inside of his Prop Vault. Most of the items there seemed foreign to me, yet there were many I recognized. It appears he’s been working tirelessly to get this latest batch of props under control. If this particular mask is responsible for the creation of these recent props, it would make sense for them to originate from our Cycle—or so I think. I’m speculating, of course, but I do have some insight from Malvaceae to guide my hypothesis.

Fortunately, we believe we’ve identified the mask causing the chaos and know which set it’s operating from: a mall featured in a movie they’re filming this month called Polybius. The plot is—unsurprisingly—about an ‘80s arcade machine with hidden psychoactive effects, allegedly used by a shady three-letter agency to control the minds of unsuspecting youth. Or something along those lines. Instead of being set in the Pacific Northwest, as one might expect, this movie takes place in the suburbs of Chicago.

However, the production has become… troubled. The crew is struggling with what could be paranoia, insomnia, or perhaps a mix of the two—a sort of portmanteau predicament, if you will. Their problems began when a prop meant for the background started taking charge. Perhaps a Teasmade could help them shake off their sluggishness? What do you think?

Regardless, this prop of Mr. White’s is dangerous. More dangerous than I could handle alone, that much is certain. Luckily, Prunus will be accompanying me, ensuring I remain sane, awake, and—most importantly—propless.
