Subject: Business as Usual
While Dover and the girls search for Max and Jenny, myself, along with Amber and Ichabod, will head to Long Island to meet up with Kyle, Zach, and Mikey. It’ll be good to be back home and even better to see how my shop has been fairing under Mikey’s care. I never said what became of my butcher shop when I joined the Folistes for fear that it might be a target of our friends. Not that there is anything particularly special about my shop, but I didn’t want to risk it. I’ve done my damndest to keep it out of the conflicts of the Cafe because coffee and raw meat simply do not mix, do they?
When I left, I gave Mikey the keys. I figured there was no one I could trust more, and it would probably be good for him to have something to do, day-to-day. I worry that poor Mikey would have no reason to leave his apartment without the hustle and bustle of the Cafe and Diner. As for Zach and Kyle, they’ve both been keeping themselves quite busy with their London Fog business. I suppose, with Kyle’s guidebook on how to make the drink, they naturally took up the role of dealing with the boroughs’ many bumps in the night.
While convincing Mikey to get back into the barista game should be fairly easy, I worry about how Kyle and Zach might feel. Zach, for what it’s worth, probably wouldn’t mind. He might even jump at the opportunity. One can only deal with the especially dead for so long before growing tired of flickering lights and hiding in closets and lockers. Kyle, on the other hand, well… from what Amber has told me, they aren’t too keen on the Coffee Trade and the trouble it brings. That, and Amber left without saying so much as goodbye to them.
