Subject: Kings Cult
It seems like Zach Rannagom is finally making his move in the Vile City. I’m not sure what he did to Niam… if anything. All I know is a defector of the Kings got in touch to warn me that Zach is attempting to utilize the remnants of Rune’s research to finish what we started. While he doesn’t know everything that I, or, well, Rune knew, he knows enough to make an attempt. Worse, Zach Rannagom is no fool. When we were working together, he made many suggestions for ways to alter our processes, to twist and corrupt them further. And while his suggestions were horrible—they weren’t bad.
Like Algani, Zach is a brilliant alchemist. Though where Algani wanted to make things shine, Zach wanted to make things die. Together, along with Rune’s ambitions, we were going to make something truly spectacular. We were going to, in a sense, transmute the entire Otherside into something new and wonderful. Of course, I now see how that is a foolish idea… but Zach is known for turning fools into wisemen and wisemen into fools. Without the input of myself or Algani, I fear that Zach will attempt to make, in essence, a dark Netzach.
I know we’re trying to stop Fenrir and the Hyperions, but if Zach is able to pull this off, Fenrir destroying the sun will be the least of our worries. A “dark” Netzach… it could ruin more than just our Cycle. It could ruin everything. However, I’m not expecting everyone to just drop what they’re doing to help me on this, either. This is my mess, and I’ll clean it up. I need to see this to its end. I know what I need to do.
