Everything here is going okay! I feel like I haven’t really been all that much help, but then again, this stuff is all pretty far out from my experience. I have been able to help a bit with reading out data and doing some modeling in Python, but that’s about it. In the meantime, I’ve been trying to recode the Agency’s I.C.E. Machine to work in a larger area without sacrificing precision. If I can get that working, finding the Sebitti should be a snap! I also want to see if I can somehow fit an I.C.E. Machine into the next CaDCom model—the CaDCom-Ω! It’s still pretty far from being ready, but once it is, it’ll put all the other CaDComs to shame!
Some of the ideas I have for the next model would be a built-in I.C.E. Machine, full technopathic firewall, even more advanced transcription technology, AND… built-in public key projectors. You’d just point, click, and zap! The customer is returned to their Plane of origin. No airports are required! And I’d love for the CaDCom-Ω to work seamlessly between the Flipside, Otherside, Otherworld, and Topside. Plus… it’d be nice if the CaDCom-Ω could tap into the CaDCom Database if such a thing even exists.
Enough about CaDCom replacements, though. I guess I should update you on the more pressing replacement. So far, it seems like Dover’s research points to a sort of replacement approach. You can’t exactly cleanse a… well, a person, but you can replace them with something similar enough. And while that apparently wasn’t good enough for Dover’s purposes, it should work with Rune, especially with Nine’s help. If Nine can get us a prior… well, “snapshot” of sorts—from before Rune became Rune, we can replace what Rune currently has with who Rune used to be. I think. Again, it’s all a bit above my head, and trying to write it in an open way is kinda tough.
