DINER RECEIPT

RECEIPT NUMBER: AZM01

RECEIPT DATE: 9 14 19XX

MANAGER TITLE: MON AMOUR

RECEIPT NOTES:

While mon amour and his trusted associate are busy sorting out our staffing—something I’m more than happy to let them hash out—we’ve got another customer who could use our services! I suspect this one will be easier to deal with than the last, as he’s from my side of Ottawa—Mr. Min. He’s a bit far from his usual holiday spot, but based on reports from tourists, I’m confident it’s him. And while Death Valley is no Outback, it’s dry and hot enough for Mr. Min to find it quite comfortable.

I was waiting until your meeting with Sahir was finished before we headed out. I thought about holding off until you’d made a decision regarding his employment… but honestly, who knows when that’ll be? So! Maybe another road trip will help clear your head—and maybe even warm you up to the idea of a few more helping hands. After all, the three of us can’t keep globe-trotting up and down the West Coast every week. Not that I’m really complaining. I’d never pass up a road trip with you.

As for Mr. Min’s service, I expect it’ll be easier because he knows me personally… but, even then, he’s not the easiest customer to track down. Even back home, Mr. Min keeps his distance from me—and from everyone else. He’s a unique case; he absolutely detests having his personal space violated. Either that, or you’re never actually in the same place he is—it just looks like you are. The good news is, he’s incredibly polite, and I’d be shocked if he said anything out of turn to either of you. So far, he’s just been patiently waiting in Death Valley, and he’s such a low priority that not even the S&P have bothered to try selling him their over-salted slop.
