DINER RECEIPT
RECEIPT NUMBER: CTA02
RECEIPT DATE: 9 13 19XX
MANAGER TITLE: TRUSTED ASSOCIATE
RECEIPT NOTES:
I’ve got the most important parts of our interview with Sahir Bali transcribed via the CaDCom. To recap what we discussed in the Diner—Sahir is famously neutral. Working with us would go against everything he’s stood for and could weaken many of his existing connections, especially with those who will likely become our rivals. Most notably, he risks cutting himself off from significant portions of the S&P.
He wants in.
He understands the risks, yet he sees the rewards too. Once he learned who la dame is and the nature of her involvement in our business, he simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity. For someone like Sahir, this is a golden chance to extend his network further than ever before. Up until now, his connections have mostly been limited to those within the States. But there’s a vast, untapped frontier he’s yet to explore, and for him, that’s worth any fallout from the S&P or the other Indigos who’ve kept their Ottawan connections from him for far too long.
Of course, the final decision is Baltimore’s, eh? As much as I want Sahir to join the Cafe—and as much as he wants it, too—it has to be a group decision, no? And la dame could still veto his involvement if she chooses. Though, between us, we’ve discussed this “off the record,” and la dame has already given her approval for Sahir, Marcus, and Madeline. So—the ball’s in your court, nouvel ami. Take your time to think it over, but don’t take too long. Sahir’s willing to risk severing some of his connections to work with us, but doubt will catch up with him if we delay. Even if you’re on the fence, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
