Well, this is rather peculiar—we’ve received some comfort food from a patron of ours. Or, I should say, a patron of the Cafe and Diner that once existed. If Mrs. Jejune’s account is to be believed, the Cafe and Diner that should have stood here in Snow Prime was… undone. Destroyed. Or, in modern parlance, “unalived” by Mrs. Jejune’s Spiral. Or, more accurately… The Spiral. According to Michael, this Spiral predates Jejune herself and will continue to spin, indifferent to her influence—control, or coercion notwithstanding. But this isn’t about Jejune. That tab’s been paid.
Instead, this patron brought us comfort food tied to a series of bizarre accidents on Hollywood sets. Hollywood, Hollywood, to be precise. In Snow Prime, Hollywood’s like New York, New York—a city so big they named it twice—except the entirety of greater Cascadia has somehow been absorbed by the “grand” state of Hollywood. Most of the film production still happens in Southern “Old” California, conveniently where “our” Cafe is located.
The patron in question—a producer—claimed that chaos on set had been caused by a new batch of props acquired from an unknown source. Apparently, when his set was inundated with something called “Goggins,” he sought help from the Snow Prime Cafe and Diner. As proof of his story, he brought one of the supposedly cursed props with him: a green wooden mask. The mask seemed to whisper madness, nearly latching onto my face when I held it.
Here’s the funny part—I’ve seen this mask before. It’s the Mask. Jim Carrey. You know the one. Except, according to Vanilla’s research, no such movie exists in this Cycle. I know we’re trying to work out how to get home, and the last thing I want to do is get too comfortable in a Cycle that isn’t ours. But I have to admit—my curiosity is positively piqued. And I don’t have much else to do here, do I?
