Subject: Kings Cult
Algani Bathetume has been dealt with. Unfortunately, his pawns will carry his sin with them for the rest of their lives. There’s no way that I currently know of to remove the transmutative elixir from them as it ultimately settles in their bones. On the bright side, only two people knew how to activate that elixir to cause the transformation to occur… and now only one person knows how to do it. Still, perhaps once things settle down a bit, the Pathologist could help me look into possible long-term cures. As it currently stands, however, roughly two-thirds of the population have been primed with Algani’s toxin.
While I was dealing with Algani, Dover, and Silenziosa were busy conducting crowd control and attempting to use the Sun of Babylon. I’m not sure if the Sun worked, but they did a great job keeping most out of the way of Algani and me. Unfortunately, there was one unnecessary casualty. Oh—and I got burned up pretty bad. But! That stuff happens to me all the time. I’ll be fine after a little food and rest. Oh, and poor Dover, he didn’t realize that two duffle bags full of solid gold would be way too heavy for him to actually carry back.
With Algani out of the picture, we’ve been placed into a bit of a predicament. Now, there is no question who the new King of Roses is. It’s Zach Rannagom. I’m not sure how many will actually stick with the Kings, but it does consolidate power in a potentially dangerous way. Though, I suppose Zach Rannagom is also busy dealing with Niam Astcer. But if Zach does secure the city fully or if he somehow strikes a deal with Niam, things could get scary.
